ELECTRODELESS CEMENT CONCRETE RESISTIVITY METER

CCR-5

CCR-5 Electrodeless Cement Resistivity Meter is jointly developed by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Professor Zongjin Li. This new device is mainly used for fundamental research and quality control of cement and concrete. Electrodeless Cement Resistivity Meter adopts the transformer principle in measuring the resistivity of cement-based materials during the hydration and hardening process, thus completely solving the contact problems of electrodes used in conventional methods. It is at present the only device in the world that can accurately measure the resistivity of freshly mixed cement-based materials during the hydration process. US and China patents have been applied for this device.

The resistivity of freshly mixed cement-based materials is a direct- indication of the property change of the microstructure formation and ion concentration over time, which is closely related to its hydration and hardening process. By monitoring the development of resistivity of cement-based materials during the hydration and hardening process, we can determine the physical and mechanical properties of the materials and further predict the trend of development. This provides a novel and reliable means for studying cement-based materials and controlling the quality of cement and concrete.

In addition, this device is well tailored to professional users in which data is collected and analyzed by computer software, and real-time resistivity figures are also provided in the form of a graph throughout the measuring process.
